Q&A with Past TYMC Student: Margaret Eubanks

Date

What you do…
I am studying Early Childhood Education at Pima Community College and working as a private swim lesson instructor.

What you remember about your experience at TYMC…

I played piano at Tucson Youth Music Center many years and loved how my instructors would sincerely want to see me improve. Their positive feedback would encourage me to work harder and find joy in playing. I love the entire process of learning. I would observe how a teachers teaching technique effects a student or how different ways of studying or explaining can have such an impact on understanding. it is through my many years of taking lessons in hobbies such as music that I learned a lot about my own learning style and what teaching techniques I hope to incorporate.

Musical interests…
Music has always been something I admired and wanted to succeed at. I only rarely play piano now, mostly for enjoyment and relief from daily stresses.

Goals for the future…
My main goal in the future is to finish school with a Bachelors’s degree in Early Childhood Education and start teaching in a Montessori school. The greatest joy I get from teaching is seeing a child’s excitement after understanding a topic or skill!
